Bonjour les Parents de Tennyson!
Do you speak French? (Un peu? Maybe not for a few years?) Are you interested in practicing your French in a relaxed atmosphere in your community? I’m new to Tennyson (having recently returned to Vancouver with my family after spending 2 years in Quebec) and am interested in meeting up with some other parents who might like to start a French Conversation Group. We could chat in French over coffee once a week (or so) at a time that suits everyone best! Contact me by e-mail or call if you’re interested! I’m looking forward to meeting you!! Au plaisir! Sex talk. No sweat.
A Workshop for Parents Lord Tennyson PAC is very pleased to present Saleema Noon as our first speaker of the year. Saleema is a highly respected sexual health educator. She believes that although not all parents are comfortable talking to their children about sex, all parents can learn to be comfortable. During this open and informational session, parents will come to terms with sexual health, and understand how it fits into the lives of their children at this stage of life. Attendees will discover how to easily overcome embarrassment when talking about sexual health, learn words and concepts that are easy to use, and leave well equipped to clearly answer the questions children ask. The workshop is light hearted, but delivers straight and current facts on how parents and children can work together to promote good sexual decisions for a lifetime. When: Wednesday, November 12, 2014 6:30-8:00pm Save the Date! The talk for parents precedes the students presentation. Together, they are an incredibly powerful tool for parents and children. Where: Lord Tennyson Library, babysitting provided. Please email pac.chair@lordtennyson.ca if you require babysitting. Note that additional information regarding the student sessions with Saleema Noon will be provided in November.
